The 5th Chinese Conference on Oncology (CCO) will be held on September 19–22,2008 in a beautiful city--Shijiazhuang, P.R.China. It will be organized by the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University/Hebei Province Tumor Hospital, sponsored by Chinese Anti-cancer Association and Oncology Society of Chinese Medical Society, co-sponsored by International Union Against Cancer（UICC）, Hebei Province Department of Health and Hebei Medical University.

The Chinese Conference on Oncology is the highest level academic forum of Chinese oncology field, representing the newest development and frontiers of Chinese oncology science. It has been held respectively in Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Tianjin from 2000 which gained great success as the result of the effort of organizers and sponsor. The 2008 CCO will be different from the formers because the 7th Cross-Strait Academic Conference on Oncology,International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy of Cancer (ISCGT) Conference and the 2nd China-Japan Conference on Tumor Interventional Therapy will participate in the meeting and share their experiences with us. The expected number of participants will be more than 4000.

The conference consists of invited presentation, plenary session, symposium, work-shop, poster and satellite meeting. Up to then, the official delegation, prominent experts including the Nobel Prize winner from international and national famous cancer institute will be invited to give us wonderful presentations. The conference members will conduct profound academic research and discussion or exchanges of ideas on some basic field, clinical treatment, nursing care, rehabilitation and palliative care of cancers. The theme of the conference is Cure Cancer Scientifically, Improve Human Health Successfully.

Shijiazhuang is the capital of Hebei Province, which surrounds Beijing, the capital of China, and Tianjin, one of the four famous municipal cities under the central government. It takes only two hours to Beijing or three hours to Tianjin by car or by train.
